Katrina Braan was recently awarded the CCF ‘Woman in Civil Construction Award’ for 2015. This prestigious event recently held at Sydney’s Town Hall was attended by over 350 members & associates of the CCF.
Katrina was recognised for her positive leadership of Downer PipeTech’s internal engineers and crews along with ITS’ approved subcontractors and partners. Katrina’s teams are all specialists in sewer repairs & maintenance and as a result her hands on management was duly noted by the Civil Contractors Federation and their 2015 award to Katrina.
Katrina now manages over 120 projects per month that reach as far south to Kiama, West to the Blue Mountains and to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. In the last 12 months she has successfully coordinated the scoping, assignment, consultation, community liaison, procurement, construction, quality control, safety, environmental management and reporting of over 2000 discreet projects.
In the last 12 months Katrina has been responsible for emergency works that if left unattended, had the potential for massive environmental pollution impacts. One project adjacent to the Parramatta River prevented thousands of untreated sewerage being released directly into Parramatta River and Sydney Harbour.
Katrina places the management of all stakeholders at the highest level and ensures that residents and stakeholders understand the work that will occur in their properties and the restoration that is required to rehabilitate their current services.
Katrina is the ultimate professional. Regardless if it’s a good day or the most challenging day, Katrina greets you with a smile, a warm word and then gets on with the job of assisting everyone about her.
Katrina embodies ITS’ Visions and Values and epitomises the very best in today’s professional engineers. Downer PipeTech are extremely proud to have a wonderful employee like Katrina on its team and look forward to her future successes.
