History
Trevor Groeneveld was involved in the trenchless industry and technology since the early 90’s and has played a pivotal role in the growth of the pipe rehabilitation industry in Australia. At the time ITS was established, the adoption of trenchless technology as an accepted mainstream alternative to traditional open cut pipeline renewal had not reached anywhere near its potential. There were a number of new technologies and products which ITS identified as having the potential to be major industry advancements & disrupters.
Another strong motivator was the interest in building a business around outstanding people who embraced core values of respect, integrity, safety, environment, high performance and innovation. 10 years on, we still hold true to these values and they are an integral part of the culture of the business.
ITS’s first employee was a junior engineer called Wally Akacha. Wally joined the business from its inception and has grown with the organisation and since January 2016 and now holds the position of General Manager. In 2017 Downer identified the niche skills of ITS and purchased the organisation to complement their comprehensive portfolio in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
