Project Description

Downer PipeTech were engaged by Manly Council to undertake repair and remediation works to Storm water infrastructure within private property along the Manly waterfront. Specific considerations that were sensitive to this site included the environmental management, the local penguin colony and the challenging waterfront access.
The full scope of works included community consultation and stakeholder management, CCTV investigation of pipelines, demolition of existing vertical structure, CIPP Linings of the pipelines and reconstruction of the concrete vertical structure.
The Berolina CIPP lining was undertaken using our UV cured Berolina liner which provides a 50 year design life with minimal loss of diameter. The new concrete structure was built in line with construction principles similar to that of our Tunneline concrete lining system. The works were completed without incident and without any negative impact on the surrounding flora and fauna including Manly’s penguin population.
Successful completion of this project has provided Manly Council with a fully remediated stormwater asset that will service the community into the foreseeable future and alleviate the concerns of the local residents in regards to any detrimental impact to their surrounding community and environment.
